Impact of Cognitive Skills Development in Grade 3 on Cognitive and Academic Measures

The Grade 3 students who used BrainWare SAFARI experienced significant cognitive growth compared to those who did not. After using BrainWare SAFARI, 50% of the students scored at the 70^th percentile or above on the composite score of the CCAT, compared to 33% scoring at that level on the pre-test. For students who used BrainWare SAFARI in the fall, improvements were evident immediately following use and those gains were maintained or continued to increase at the end of the school year. Academic gains for these students were greater than expected, with Reading scores on the CTBS increasing by 1.4 Grade Equivalent (GE) and 1.6 GE respectively. Students with accommodations experienced significant increases in cognitive skills and also performed at Grade Level on academic tests at the end of the school year, despite starting the year below grade level expectations.
